Prezi Concordia Portfolio

I was recently presented with the challenge of creating a portfolio to send to Concordia University's Design Program in Montreal. The Design degree is exactly what I've been looking for; a program combining design and art principles with computer technical skills. Not to mention the fact that it's in the heart of Montreal; a beautiful historical city, with lots of diversity, and a plethora of culture.

After making my first portfolio as a word document, I scrapped that for obvious reasons and made a slightly better version in Powerpoint Word. But then I gleefully threw that out the window and started from scratch one final time when I discovered "Prezi" what seems to be the mother of all presentation apps. This great free resource allows you to interact with the presentation, and provides your audience with the ability to zoom in and out and drag the screen where they wish. Such a simple way to dazzle your professors and peers next time you need to do a presentation. This was my first time playing around with it, this is the web version. For the school I actually downloaded it as a file and burned it to a dvd.

Frayed Sew

I'm excited to announce that you can now buy my Bicycle Bit earrings in Helena, MT! I just filled an order to consign in Frayed Sew; a chic boutique full of hand made treasures and green goodies. It'll be interesting to compare the sales in Helena vs. Missoula. Looking forward to feedback.

So it looks like they're all ready to go right? Well i finished making the 20 pairs they ordered friday afternoon, and I'd printed my artist statement, and put each pair on a tag. I'd also taken individual photos, and made a contact sheet with item codes and prices to email to the store for inventory purposes. However i still ended up working until midnight, on a FRIDAY night so I could drop everything off on Saturday because ....

I had to write by hand, on each card, first in pencil, then in pen, my brand name, blog site, and etsy store. This took about three hours somehow. I've officially decided I'm having a stamp made with all this info so I never have to handwrite my business info again. Haha yikes.
